PreCentral is running a piece from an anonymous tipster which includes a few screenshots and some brief initial impressions of the AT&T Pre Plus. The Pre Plus in question is running WebOS 1.4.2 and the AT&T Pre Plus is reportedly subjectively faster than the similar Verizon Pre Plus.

Barring any last-minute surprise spec bumps, the only two major remaining unknown factors are the devices’ release date and pricing. Speculation for the AT&T webOS launch has ranged from May 10th per FCC documentation research to the 14th to the 16th. At any rate, it appears nearly certain that the official AT&T launch for the WebOS twins is imminent at some point later this month.

Palm demonstrates webOS platform and UI on the new Pre smartphone.

Today over at webOS Internals, Dudestatus has put together a solution that brings the gnuboy Game Boy Emulator to webOS.

The solution is a bit technical and we’ll recommend sitting back and letting a final package release before experimenting, but the video below demonstrates the possibilities.  If you were holding your breath in anticipation of whether or not the 600MHz TI OMAP3430 processor can handle the emulator you can breath easy.  How hard could it be to replicate game play on a device that was powered by just 8Mhz right?

Consumer Reports recently released their annual top products list, which had 398 items. The Palm Pre is on the smartphone section. The Pre was given a score of 67, while the first place had a 73.
The low score was taken by the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 on Sprint, with a 59. That puts the Palm Pre right in the middle, which by the way, has the old sticker price of $200. If they had use the newer price, the Pre could have gained some extra points.
