My frustration is that Palm finally releases a truly innovative new product fit to wear the name Palm and they lock it into a network with subpar network service.

I think the Pre missed it's big sale window not due to season, but to the poor choice of Sprint. I believe that consumers are not willing to downgrade the quality of service. So, for those Sprint customers that are content with their current service, they stay.

T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon customers that have better service, especially in rural and remote areas, simply cannot afford to switch and lose digital service. Why buy a smart phone that isn't?

I believe that once the Pre / Sprint contract is up and it becomes available to the other 3 major providers, Palm will see the significance of their error and an increase in sales.

My hope is this: That the Pre can help financially and push Palm into innovation consistently again, tweaking the WebOS and Palm platform to become a major competitor. I also hope that Palm does not lock any phone into another exclusive deal.
